HACK4HEALTH NEDİR?

Teknolojinin yardımı ile yaşamın farklı alanlarında daha kolay, üretken, etkileşimli bir yaşam nasıl mümkün olur? Tüm etkinlik mühendislerin, doktorların, hemşirelerin, sağlık personelinin, tasarımcıların, yazılımcıların, hastaların Bir sağlık sorununa ortak çözüm geliştirmek üzere zamana karşı “işbirlikli rekabet içerisinde” yarışacakları ve yeni yazılım çözümlerinin kutlanacağı bir etkinlik olacak.

Hack4Health, yaşamımızın her dönemini kapsayan etki alanı ile yaşamlarımızı daha kaliteli sürdürebilmemiz için var olan sağlık sorunlarına dair, yenilikçi çözümler üretilmesi için tasarlanmış bir etkinliktir.

Hack4Helath, İzmir Girişimcilik Ekosistemi kurumsal kimliği olan “Start In İzmir” altında, İzmir Kalkınma Ajansı tarafından ilgili tüm paydaşların katılımıyla hazırlanmış İzmir Bölgesel Yenilik Stratejisi, İzmir Girişimcilik Ekosistemi Geliştirme Stratejisi, İzmir Bilgi Toplumu Temelli Kalkınma Stratejisi ve İzmir Yatırım Tanıtım Stratejisi belgelerinin eylem planlarına uygun olarak düzenlenmektedir.

What Is HACK4HEALTH?

With the help of technology, how can an easier, productive, interactive life be possible in different areas of life? All activity will be an event where engineers, doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals, designers, software developers and patients will compete in a "cooperative competition" against time to develop a solution to a health problem and new software solutions will be celebrated.

Hack4Health is an event designed to reach innovative solutions for a better quality of life in "health" covering all phases of our lives.

Hack4Health complies with the action plans of İzmir Regional Innovation Strategy, İzmir Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development Strategy, İzmir Information Society Based Development Strategy and İzmir Investment Promotion Strategy documents prepared by İzmir Development Agency under the "Start In İzmir" which is the institutional identity of İzmir Entrepreneurship Ecosystem with the participation of all relevant stakeholders.

What Is Hackathon?

Hackathon (also known as a hack day, hackfest or codefest) : Hackathon is an event which gathers people with interest and knowledge on the same topic and gives them limited time to invent new products or ideas about this topic. People from different aspects of out life brought into one place, with creativity and all of their knowledge, to create new things and at the same time to help into developing of the eco system.

Hackathon NEDİR?

Hackathon, (kod maratonu, hackfest, codefest): Hackathon etkinlikleri, ortak bir konuya ilgi duyan kişilerin bir araya gelip sınırlı bir zaman içinde, kendilerine verilen problem veya konuyla ilgili ortaya yeni fikir ve ürünler çıkarmaya çalıştıkları etkinliklerdir. Farklı kesimlerden insanların bir tema dahilinde aynı mekanda, ortak bir hedef için zaman geçirmeleri sağlanmakta; işbirliği, yaratıcılık ve etkileşim geliştirilerek bölgesel ekosistemde kapasite artışı gerçekleştirilmektedir.

Sağlık çok kapsamlı bir konu. Herkesin farklı deneyim ve ihtiyaçları olabilecek bu alanda aşağıda yer alan vakalar sizlere yol göstermek üzere hazırlandı. Deneyimleri ile farklı bir sağlık sorununa çözüm üretmeyi arzu eden katılımcılarımız geliştirecekleri yeni projelere de Hack4Health'ta can verebilirler.

Health is a very comprehensive issue. In this issue, everyone may have different experiences and needs. The cases below was prepared to guide.Participants who wish to develop a solution in a different health problem can also contribute to new projects in Hack4Health Izmir.

1. Klinik bilgiye uygun radyolojik tetkik seçimi / Choice of appropriate radiological examination for clinical information

Çok sayıda tetkik seçeneği arasında uygun olanını seçme süreci doğru yapılmadığında önemli tıbbi hatalara, hastanın zarar görmesine ve maddi kayıplara yol açmaktadır. Hastane bilgi sistemlerinin gelişmesi ile birlikte uygun tetkik seçiminde bilişim sistemlerinden yararlanma olanakları da ortaya çıkmıştır. Geliştirilecek proje ile klinik süreçler içerisinde doğruluğu yüksek ve uygulanabilirliği olan bir karar destek sistemi geliştirilmesi beklenmektedir. Sorunla ilgili projelerden farklı bir yaklaşım arayışı mevcuttur.

Significant medical malpractice causes damage to the patient and leads to financial loss when the selection of the appropriate option among a large number of examination options is not performed correctly. Along with the development of the hospital information systems, the possibility of using the information systems in the selection of the appropriate examination has also emerged. With the project to be developed, it is expected that a decision support system with high accuracy and applicability within the clinical processes will be developed. There is a different approach to problem-related projects.

2. Sağlık eğitiminde sanal gerçekliğe dayalı simülasyon sistemleri geliştirmek / To develop virtual reality based simulation systems in health education

Gerek etik, gerekse ekonomik nedenlerle sağlık eğitiminde hasta üzerinde eğitimin sakıncaları nedeniyle simülasyon yöntemlerine büyük bir yönelim ortaya çıkmıştır. Simülasyonlar harware ya da software yoluyla yapılabilir. Projemiz uygun bir malzeme seçimi ile farklı simülasyon olanakları yaratmayı hedeflemektedir.

A great tendency has emerged in the simulation methods because of the ethics, the education of the patient in health education, if necessary for economic reasons. Simulations can be done via hardware or software. Our project aims to create different simulation possibilities by choosing a suitable material.

3. Omurga sağlığı için kişiye özgü eksersiz önerileri sunan karar destek sistemi geliştirilmesi / Development of a decision support system that provides a personalized exercise recommendation for spine health

Omurga sağlığı özellikle yaşlanan nüfus ve yaşamı bilgisayar bağımlı çalışanlar açısından giderek önem kazanmaktadır. Ancak omurga kökenli sorunlar kişiye özel durumlar gösterir ve buna yönelik farklı egzersiz programlarının kullanımını gerektirir. Geliştirilecek bir karar destek programı ile kişiye özgü omurga sağlık girdilerine en uygun egzersiz program önerisi oluşturulması amaçlanmaktadır.

Spine health is becoming increasingly important in terms of aging populations and life span for computer-dependent workers. However, problems of spinal origin are manifested by special conditions and necessitate the use of different exercise programs. With a decision support program to be developed, it is aimed to create an exercise program proposal that is most suitable for person-specific backbone health inputs.

4. Tıbbi raporların hastalar için günlük dile çevrimi / Daily translation of medical reports for patients

Tıbbi terminoloji ile yazılmış raporların anlaşılırlığı her zaman tartışma konusudur. Hastaların kendilerine ait inceleme bilgilerini en doğru biçimde edinme hakkı bulunmaktadır. Geliştirilecek bir yazılım ile tıbbi bir raporun günlük dille uygun olarak yeniden ifade edilmesi bu sorunu giderebilir.

The clarity of reports written in medical terminology is always a matter of debate. Patients have the right to obtain their own examination information in the most accurate manner. With a software to be improved, re-expressing a medical report in accordance with the daily dime may solve this problem.

5. Hasta radyasyon doz kayıt ve izlemi – Applikasyon / Patient radiation dose recording and monitoring - Application

Doğal ve tıbbi nedenlerle sürekli olarak alınan radyasyon istenmeyen sonuçlar doğurabilmektedir. Yasalarla kişilerin yıllık alabilecekleri radyasyon doz limitleri belirlenmiştir. Kişinin mekan, coğrafya ve uzaysal konum bilgileri ( uçak yolculuğu ve vb) ile tıbbi tetkiklerini dikkate alarak aldıkları radyasyon dozunu hesaplayan ve limitlerde alarme eden bir yazılım geliştirilmesi yararlı görülmektedir.

Radiation taken continuously for natural and medical reasons can produce undesirable results. By law, annual radiation dose limits are set for people. It would be useful to develop a software that calculates the dose of radiation that the person is taking, taking into account the geographical and spatial location information (air travel, etc.) and medical examinations, and alerting them to the limits.

6. Ameliyat süreç bilgilendirme sisteminin mobil uygulamadan izlenebilir olması / The operation process information system can be monitored from mobile application

Hasta yakınlarının bir operasyonun süreçlerine dair, bir bilgi ekranı aracılığı ile aldıkları bilgilerin mobil telefonlar üzerinden alınması, kişileri bir mekana bağlı olmaktan kurtarabilir. Bunun için geliştirilecek bir yazılım bu sorunu giderebilecektir.

The retrieval of information about the process of an operation of the patients by means of an information screen via mobile phones can save people from being connected to a place. A software upgrade for this could lead to this problem.

7. Görsel ikonlar yardımıyla kalori hesaplama modülü / mobil uygulama

Kalori hesaplanması farklı nedenlerle gerekli olmaktadır. Örneğin diyet programlarının uygulanabilmesi ve izleminde bu hesaplamalara başvurulur. Öte yandan hesaplamaların basit ve uygulanabilir olmasına gereksinim vardır. Bu amaçla görsel ikonlardan yararlanan mobil bir yazılım geliştirilebilir.

Calorie calculation is necessary for different reasons. For example, dietary programs can be applied and followed in these calculations. On the other hand, calculations need to be simple and feasible. For this purpose, a mobile software that utilizes visual icons can be developed.

Hack4Health - Things to take into consideration

Intellectual Property Rights

The rights to the ideas, prototypes, services or other materials produced during the event and contributed in the competition are held by the team members themselves. HACK4HEALTH-Izmir reserves the right to describe the entries publicly and present them at the this site, in social media linked to the event and at the participating enterprises and organization channels of communication and marketing.

Protection of Intellectual Property

By submitting an Entry or accepting any prize, you represent and warrant the following: you will not submit content that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the content; and the content submitted by you does not contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms or other disabling devices or harmful code.

Participant represents and warrants that he or she is the sole author and copyright owner of the Submission, and that the Submission is an original work of the Participant, or if the Submission is a work based on an existing application, that the Participant has acquired sufficient rights to use and to authorize others; and that the Submission does not infringe upon any copyright or upon any other third party rights of which the Participant is aware, and that the Submission is free of malware.

Eligibility

HACK4HEALTH organizers have the right at their sole discretion to determine whether an entrant is eligible for the Contest. HACK4HEALTH may disqualify, at organizers’ sole discretion, HACK4HEALTH entries (including, without limitation, content submitted in connection therewith) that (a) are in violation of third party rights or law or regulation, (b) use inappropriate or explicit language or images, or display content that HACK4HEALTH or Sponsors otherwise finds objectionable.

Winner Selection/Judging Criteria

Winners will be judged based on the following criteria:
  • Quality and innovative nature of the idea / demo
  • Utility of the idea / demo
  • Compelling use of the Sponsors Technologies and Tools (if exists)
  • Teaming and Timing capabilities
  • How well they solve the given challenge
  • The contributions creativity, originality and potential for health issues
  • The implementation (technology, usability, design and presentation)

The Contest winners will be selected by a panel of judges. By submitting any HACK4HEALTH Entry, entrants release Hack4Health, Sponsors, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, and advisors from any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the decisions of the Judges.

Awards

Contest prizes are non-transferable by the winner. If you accept a prize, you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting such prize (if exists).

By registering on www.hack4healthizmir.com you agree to following contest rules:
  • The contribution must be an application, service, or visualization that shows a solution to at least one of the hackathon challenges.
  • The contribution can use the data and/or facts that are presented with respective challenges, but may in addition combine this with other open and available data sources.
  • The contribution shall be possible to reach via the web with a PC and/or mobile device.
  • Attandies may have mentoring face to face or online with mentors.
  • The contribution may not have been fully or partially published before the event.
  • The contribution language shall be in Turkish and/or in English. The presentation needs to be in English.
  • The contribution shall not be contrary to Turkish law. The organizers of the Hack4Health Izmir reserves the right to remove entries received where there is doubt about this.
  • The contribution shall be the participation team’s own idea and solution. It should not violate the laws of others intellectual property. In cases where parts of another service, application or framework is used for the solution the source shall be notified and any rights issues concerning this use must be resolved by the team before the hackathon presentation starts.
  • Work on the contribution by the teams can be prepared before the event but the final solution must be put together during the hackathon.
  • Participating teams are encouraged to contribute to an open, fun, interesting and innovative competition. All participants must be prepared for interaction of the jury, organizers, partners and other stakeholders involved in the event.
  • The participating team has the right to use third parties or third party software.
  • There is no age limit to participate, but legal guardians are responsible for participants under 18 years.
  • A majority of the participating team must attend at the hackathon event and be present during the presentation. Although, it is allowed to register team members that contribute in the preparations before and during the hackathon, that are not present on location.
  • At the submission of the contribution, the following information shall be entered:
    • Team name
    • The persons included in the team
    • Which of the challenges you have a solution for
    • Brief description of your hackathon contribution
    • What data sources are used
    • What programming or other special technique is used
    • If there are any special copyright notions about the contribution
    • List of third parties that helped or third-party software used
    • Link to the application or web site
    • Link to presentation
  • The teams live presentation and link to the application, service, or visualization may be presented publicly live and on demand afterwards.
  • Suspected cheating leads to disqualification.
  • The Organizers of Hack4Health-Izmir have no responsibilty for any malfunctions on the contributions made by the participating teams before, during or after the hackathon. That includes any form of problems or technical malfunction of data connections, servers, computer equipment or software. That also includes any injury or damage to participants’s or other person’s computer related to or caused by running or downloading any of the material contributed to the HACK4HEALTH-Izmir competition.
  • In the event of conflict, the organizers of the HACK4HEALTH-Izmir prevail when it comes to competition rules and assessment criteria.
  • Teams that do not follow these rules or who otherwise behave in a manner that is not consistent with the goals and spirit of the event may be disqualified.
  • Green Hackathons group organizer reserves the right to change the terms, conditions and evaluation criteria to the starting point for the hackathon.
